When TBS greenlit Anthony Davis, Chris Paul, and the Impractical Jokers team to build an unscripted prank show, we didn’t expect a Parking BOXX gate to end up as the punchline. But that’s exactly what happened in the premiere episode of Foul Play With Anthony Davis.

In the show’s first episode, “This Isn’t the G-League,” Anthony Davis teamed up with Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles to rig an elaborate prank on WNBA and Unrivaled star Rickea Jackson — trapping her in what the show calls “an anxiety-inducing parking lot nightmare.” The gate itself isn’t the problem — it’s the parking attendant who simply will not cooperate, no matter what Jackson tries.

Foul Play premiered on TBS April 6, 2026, produced by Davis, Paul, and the Impractical Jokers crew — James Murray, Brian Quinn, and Sal Vulcano — and posted strong ratings for the network right out of the gate. The same episode features LeBron James and his agent Rich Paul running a separate prank on Draymond Green.

Spoiler alert: the arm Jackson snaps over her knee in frustration isn’t an actual Parking BOXX barrier gate arm — it’s a breakaway prop the crew rigged specifically for the stunt. Our real arms are engineered with a breakaway bolt for safety in a low-speed impact, not for wrestling matches with frustrated drivers — one inexpensive bolt takes the hit so the gate is back in service in minutes, not a full arm replacement.

It’s not the first time a Parking BOXX machine has ended up on screen — our parking payment machine appeared in the Canadian mystery series Private Eyes back in 2019. Apparently when production teams need equipment that looks — and acts — completely real, ours is the equipment that shows up.

For the record: our barrier gates don’t actually trap anyone. Auto-reverse on obstruction is a standard safety feature on every unit we manufacture. Rickea’s parking lot nightmare was purely for TV.
