Long Beach
Long Beach is a city in the Greater Los Angeles Area. The Port of Long Beach has a booming oil industry and is among the world’s largest shipping ports. For 10 000 years, indigenous people have lived in the area of Long Beach. Long Beach has a Mediterranean Climate with strong semi-arid climate characteristics. A westerly sea breeze keeps the coast cooler. The Palo Verdes Hills block west to east airflow as well as significant levels of moisture. The heat is usually tolerable since it rarely coincides with very humid days. Long Beach is a bicycle friendly city with over 60 miles of bike paths. It is home to one of the world’s greatest female athletes, beach volleyball’s Misty May-Treanor. For convenience you can buy an annual beach parking pass which is available at several parking lots including Marina Greens, 72nd Place, 54th Place, Colorado Lagoon Marina Park among others.
