The name was derived from the full name of Santa Fe New Mexico, La Villa Real de la Santa Fe de San Francisco de Asis. The City was incorporated in 1957. The population is just over 17,000 people. Santa Fe Springs is included in the metropolitan area of Los Angeles. Santa Fe Springs is around 30 minutes from Los Angeles and 45 minutes from Long Beach.
