Virginia Beach is a coastal city in Virginia, and although it is larger, it is considered the suburb of Northfolk. With thirteen exciting slides and an enormous wave pool there are plenty of options to relax and have fun.

One of the most popular parks in Virginia Beach is Mount Trashmore Park. It is fittingly called so since the park is located on top of a landfill. The park is open seven days a week from 7:30 am until sunset. The park has picnic shelters, volleyball areas, parking, vending machines, lake’s for fishing, several hiking trails and restrooms.

The Military Aviation Museum was ranked 5 out of 5 on trip advisor. It has one of the largest collections of war birds from WWI and WWII. History comes alive when you see The 65 vintage airplanes on display. There are German, French, Italian, Russian, British, and American planes.

Back Bay Wildlife Rescue is a freshwater refuge on the Currituck Banks Peninsula. Go hiking or take the trail to access False Cape State Park. It features Maritime Forests, sand dunes, freshwater marshes, an ocean beach and wintering wildfowl.

Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art got 4.5 stars out of a possible 5 on trip advisor. At the museum you can participate in tours, classes, lectures, films and community outreach. Children, teens and adults can discover drawing, paintings, ceramics, digital photography and more. MOCA defines contemporary art as a reflection of the culture in which we live. Most works of art at MOCA were created by living artists.
Sports
Every year Virginia Beach hosts the East Coast Surfing Championships which is the oldest surfing contest in North America. A hundred professional surfers compete as well as four hundred amateur surfers. The beach also hosts the North American Sand Soccer Championship, the annual beach soccer tournament. For golf aficionados there are eleven different golf courses to choose. There is enough variety to shake things up and never get bored.
