One of the most popular parks in Virginia Beach is Mount Trashmore Park. It is fittingly called so since the park is located on top of a landfill. Back Bay Wildlife Rescue is a freshwater refuge on the Currituck Banks Peninsula. Go hiking or take the trail to access False Cape State Park. It features Maritime Forests, sand dunes, freshwater marshes, an ocean beach and wintering wildfowl.
