Mini Pay BOXX compact parking pay station

Compact Payment, Full CloudEASE Integration

The Mini Pay BOXX delivers the core payment and management capabilities of the Parking BOXX product line in a smaller enclosure. For facilities where island space is limited, transaction volume is lower, or a second unit is needed for an overflow or secondary exit lane, the Mini Pay BOXX fits where full-size units cannot.

The Mini Pay BOXX is part of the Parking BOXX full-featured gated system, so it works with entry ticket dispensers and barrier gates and requires gates. A pay station for lots without gates is called a Smart Parking Meter.

Payment Acceptance

The Mini Pay BOXX accepts credit and debit cards through an EMV-certified reader handling chip insertion and contactless tap. Mobile wallets — Apple Pay and Google Pay — pay via NFC at the same card reader without additional hardware. The Mini Pay BOXX can be configured with credit card, bill, and coin acceptance in any combination, and tokens are available as an option. It does not give change. For facilities that need change dispensed, the Big Pay BOXX offers optional bill and coin acceptance with change.

Ticket and Plate Processing

Barcoded tickets issued at entry dispensers are read and validated at the Mini Pay BOXX. The unit calculates the parking fee based on entry time from CloudEASE and presents the total to the driver. Payment authorizes exit — either through a validated exit ticket or by communicating directly with the exit lane barrier gate. In LPR-enabled facilities, the driver enters their plate number instead of a physical ticket.

Remote Management via CloudEASE

The Mini Pay BOXX connects to CloudEASE via Ethernet or cellular. All transactions record in real time. Operators update rate schedules, monitor hardware status, and run revenue reports from any browser — no on-site visit required. Maintenance alerts push automatically when the unit requires attention.

Right-Sized for the Application

Not every facility needs the cabinet size and change-dispensing cash handling of a flagship pay station. The Mini Pay BOXX is the right tool for smaller lots, secondary lanes, and facilities transitioning to unattended payment for the first time — delivering the essential payment and management functions without the cost or size of a full-feature unit.

Built for Outdoor Use

The Mini Pay BOXX is a powder-coated stainless steel kiosk with drill-resistant locks and a thermostatically controlled heater, rated from -40°F with the heater to 122°F (50°C). A UPS backup protects the electronics with surge suppression and automatic voltage regulation, and the unit keeps operating off-line if the network or internet is lost. It is designed for year-round outdoor deployment without a shelter, with a 12-inch LCD, and is CSA, PCI, ADA, and AODA compliant.

Network connectivity is Ethernet where facility infrastructure exists, or a cellular modem where running a new cable is impractical. Both deliver the same real-time CloudEASE reporting. CloudEASE monitors receipt paper level, card reader status, network connectivity, power status, and transaction errors, and alerts designated staff by email or SMS before parkers run into a problem. The slim 15-inch-wide profile fits narrow islands.

Where the Mini Pay BOXX Is Deployed

Moderate-traffic surface lots are the most common deployment: a lot of 50 to 150 spaces, or fewer than 200, does not need a full pay station lineup, and one or two Mini Pay BOXX units handle the volume while keeping equipment cost proportional to revenue. Secondary and overflow areas next to a primary garage use a Mini Pay BOXX at an unmanned exit to manage revenue across the whole footprint, and campus and business park satellite lots use the cellular option to avoid trenching new conduit or pulling network cable. Facilities with mixed lot sizes manage Mini and Big Pay BOXX units from the same CloudEASE account.

Mini Pay BOXX vs. Big Pay BOXX

Both units connect to CloudEASE and accept card and mobile payment. The key differences are change dispensing, physical size, and deployment scenario.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Mini Pay BOXX?
The Mini Pay BOXX is Parking BOXX's compact parking pay station, designed for facilities where space is limited or payment volume is lower. It accepts credit cards (EMV chip and contactless tap), debit cards, and mobile wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay. The Mini Pay BOXX connects to CloudEASE for real-time transaction reporting and remote rate management, giving operators the same management experience as the full-featured Big Pay BOXX in a smaller enclosure. It is manufactured directly by Parking BOXX, which means factory-direct pricing and one point of contact for hardware, software, and support.
How does the Mini Pay BOXX differ from the Big Pay BOXX?
The Mini Pay BOXX is designed for lower-volume applications and situations where a smaller enclosure is preferred — secondary exit lanes, small surface lots, retrofit installations with limited island space, or facilities that do not need change dispensed. The Big Pay BOXX is the full-featured flagship model in a larger cabinet (31 x 20 x 72 inches), with optional bill and coin acceptance that dispenses change and dual-lock cash vaults, suited for high-volume locations. Both units have a 12-inch LCD, a barcode scanner, receipt printing, and a connection to CloudEASE, and both accept credit, debit, and mobile payment. The right choice depends on your expected transaction volume, whether you need change dispensed, and the physical constraints of your installation site.
Does the Mini Pay BOXX accept cash?
The Mini Pay BOXX can be configured with credit card, bill, and coin acceptance in any combination (the card reader takes EMV chip and tap cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile wallets), and tokens are available as an option. It does not give change. For facilities that need cash with change dispensed, the Big Pay BOXX offers optional bill and coin acceptance with change. Parking BOXX can advise on the right configuration for your specific facility based on your expected payment mix, daily transaction volume, and available island space.
How does the Mini Pay BOXX connect to CloudEASE?
The Mini Pay BOXX connects to CloudEASE via Ethernet or cellular connection. Every transaction is recorded in CloudEASE in real time, giving operators a live view of revenue by station, time period, and payment method. Rate schedules — flat rate, hourly, event pricing — are configured in CloudEASE and pushed to the unit remotely. The CloudEASE dashboard displays hardware status alerts so operators know when the unit needs attention before it affects operations. All of this is identical to the CloudEASE experience on larger Parking BOXX products.
Where is the Mini Pay BOXX typically used?
The Mini Pay BOXX is well-suited for low-to-medium volume surface lots, secondary or overflow exit lanes in larger facilities, retrofit installations where the existing island or pedestal limits the unit footprint, and facilities that are transitioning from attended to unattended payment but do not yet need the change-dispensing cash capabilities of the Big Pay BOXX. Common applications include small hotel lots, medical office parking, municipal surface lots, and secondary exits at airports or shopping centers.
